We have had an amazing second week of school! Two of our 5th grade classes started going to StarBase for their STEAM field trips. All of our 5th graders will get the opportunity to visit StarBase throughout this year. Our 1st graders were practicing their place value and representing numbers with place value blocks.

We will have our PTA Kindness Challenge Fundraiser Kick-Off Assemblies to begin our fundraiser and later in the week we will have our Fall Picture Days. We had an incredible first week of the 2026-2027 school year! Across campus students and teachers learned and reviewed procedures, expectations, and even some math!

DWE Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week was a huge success because of our amazing PTA and our DWE families! Thank you for sending your love!

This week we celebrated our Cienega Graduates with a parade, went of field trips, watched ducks hatch, and released butterflies. Such a wonderful time of year!

What a great week to be a Diamondback! We had our "Slime the Principal" assembly to celebrate the minutes read and money earned during our Read-A-Thon fundraiser. Mrs. Owens was such a good sport!

On Tuesday we spent time with our Buddy Classes playing games, reading, and drawing. We were also able to congratulate the winners of this year's Reflections Contest. They wrote music, made movies, danced, and showed the world their talents.

Today we had our first High School Graduate parade. Here is a picture of all the Mica Mountain seniors that attended DWE.
